Muscle Testing - Performance Laser Therapy

Applied Muscle Testing (AMT) — What it is and benefits?

Applied Muscle Testing (AMT), often called manual muscle testing or applied kinesiology. It is a hands-on assessment to evaluate muscle function and neuromuscular control. Used cautiously as part of a broader assessment, AMT can help clinicians identify movement patterns, asymmetries, and areas to target with therapy. AMT is best used alongside objective measures (strength testing, functional tests, imaging) because its reliability varies; when combined with PBM, it can help clinicians target treatment areas and monitor short-term responses.

From a study below: A clinician uses AMT to identify hip weakness contributing to knee pain, applies PBM to the quadriceps and gluteal region, and tracks functional improvement over sessions using objective strength and mobility measures.

Q: Which package do I need to purchase?

A: In some initial appointments, basic muscle testing is provided as part of investigating where, or what your problem is, to determine where the laser is to be used, which frequency / setting and how much energy (joules) could be required.
For detailed muscle testing, this is a separate service. Please contact us if you think you need muscle testing, and for availability and fees. Usually 1-3 appointments is all that is necessary for initial muscle testing, review and follow up.
